The wheels are built on aerodynamic 55 mm high rims with an external rim width of 26 mm. The pre-assembled tubeless rim tape and tubeless valves make it possible to ride the S5 wheels tubeless. The wide rim in combination with a wider tubeless outer tire provides more comfort, lower rolling resistance and increased puncture resistance. 3-year warranty
Quality is Scope’s number one priority. After registering the wheelset on the Scope website within 30 days of purchase, you activate the 3-year warranty period. When registering your wheelset, it is necessary to include the serial number. This can be found on the enclosed registration card, the wheel box or rim bed.

Lifetime Crash Replacement program
Despite its high quality, a Scope wheelset cannot always withstand the consequences of a severe crash. Scope therefore offers, in addition to the 3-year warranty period, a lifetime crash replacement program. Scope thus gives you the chance to replace the wheel after a crash at a reduced rate.

Technology

High lateral stiffness
Scope wheels are built as a “system. Every part is connected to – and developed with the complete wheel in mind. To create high stiffness, Scope has optimized the flange. After all, a wide flange provides almost 60% of the total lateral stiffness of a wheelset. Scope has managed to keep the spoke tension the same despite using a wide flange. The wide flange, optimal spoke tension and stiff wide carbon rim result in a very high lateral stiffness: 47-52 Nm/mm, an industry benchmark! All your energy is converted into speed.

Aerodynamic and tubeless
By pooling data collected over more than a year, Scope was able to determine the extent to which wind affects a wheelset. “Computational Fluid Dynamics” were then used to develop the 26mm U-shape rim in such a way as to minimize the influence of air resistance and crosswinds from all angles. The result: being able to outperform other brands. The rim profile has been optimized for tubeless tires in collaboration with TU Eindhoven and Schwalbe, while remaining compatible with all wire and folding tires.

Lightweight
The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft helped Scope optimize the carbon structure to optimize strength and stiffness. Scope is able to additionally reinforce the rim at the location of the spoke nipples, while saving weight between the spoke nipples; this was achieved according to Local Reinforcement Technology. Together with TU Delft, Scope has further developed this technology, reducing the weight of all racing and mountain bike rims without compromising on stiffness and strength.

Extreme durability
Durability is the key factor for the life of a hub. To protect the bearings from dirt and water, Scope has developed its own system. The shaft end caps completely seal the hubs in addition to the seals that seal the bearings themselves. Scope uses high-quality industrial SKF bearings. All in all, this helps to optimize the durability of the hubs.
